Wausau Lyric Choir

Welcome!

SPECIAL BULLETIN: DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS IF TONIGHT'S CONCERT MUST BE CANCELLED, NOTICE WILL BE POSTED HERE AT 3:00 pm.

Greetings, Friends of the Wausau Lyric Choir:

While our music director, Lucinda Thayer, is away teaching in London for the spring semester, I have been asked to serve as guest director. From my own standpoint, working with this talented ensemble has been a refreshing and highly rewarding experience, and I am eagerly looking forward to sharing our music with you later this spring.

We are well into rehearsals for our spring concert, entitled: Singing Is Our Refuge. This program is comprised of songs that speak to the many ways our lives have been touched by the gift of music, and will feature Handel’s Coronation Anthem No. 2, ‘The King Shall Rejoice,’ as well as works by Mozart, Rene Clausen, Ola Gjeilo, Frank Ticheli, and several spirited spirituals certain to get your feet tapping. In addition, we will be world-premiering a new piece that I have written, ‘Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep.’ For ticket information and other details, please refer to the Concerts and Tickets links on this site.

As always, we are grateful to all of the businesses and individuals who so generously support our endeavors. Please continue to watch this site for details about our end-of-season gala event, Summer Serenade, which will be held once again at the Great Hall, next to the Grand Theater in downtown Wausau.

Hope to see you at our concerts!
